Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve
Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve is comprised of a vast ocean of lava flows with scattered islands of cinder cones and sagebrush. Described as "weird and scenic" this landscape could erupt at any moment. Whether you like to ski, snowshoe, or just walk around and explore, there is something for visitors of all abilities and interests to enjoy.
Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument

Glimpse life before the last Ice Age and view the earliest appearance of modern flora and fauna at Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument. Known mostly for its fossils from the late Pliocene and Pleistocene epochs, Hagerman Fossil Beds contains one of the world's richest known deposits of fossil horses, Equus simplicidens, thought to be a link between prehistoric and modern horses. Also, the Monument contains parts of the Oregon National Historic Trail, one of only three units in the NPS to boast this characteristic.

Minidoka Internment National Monument
As wartime hysteria mounted, President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 forcing over 120,000 West Coast persons of Japanese ancestry to leave their lives behind to move to one of ten Relocation Camps. Minidoka is the story of one Camp, constituting the single largest forced relocation in U.S. history.
