The North Face Women's Fury Gore-Tex XCR Trail Running Shoe The North Face: Women's Fury Gore-Tex XCR Trail Running Shoe

Three seasons of versatility and waterproof protection for camping hiking and playing outside.

It's not a trail running shoe but you can run for miles in it. It's not a light hiking shoe but that shouldn't stop you from logging ten or more miles in the middle of June. The North Face Fury Gore-Tex XCR specialized in nothing other than outdoor versatility--and does it better than most hybrids that make the same claims. The upper consists of a durable combination of Nubuck leather and pig suede in varying densities to give you the right amount of protection without weighing you down in excesses. Beneath the overlays underlays and waterproof ballistic textile fabrics is a waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex® XCR® membrane that helps keep your feet dry and comfortable. Compared to other shoes with mesh uppers the extra upper reinforcement material on The North Face Fury Gore-Tex XCR doesn't deliver the same degree of breathable vapor transfer but it is an excellent shoe for milder climates and damp or even rainy conditions. The North Face added a TPU shank and forefoot protection plate in the lightweight EVA midsole for protection along the bottom. Underneath you'll find that the TNF Trail Grip™ rubber outsole has raised nubs and aggressive lugs in a blend of compounds for superior traction in slick conditions. This is a great three-season shoe that can even go the distance in mild winter conditions without leaving you with cold wet feet.

Purchased new model - hard to wear Image: 1 Stars

I have an older pair of Fury hikers that I love. I replaced them with a new pair and found the seam on the inside above the arch to be very sharp and cut my foot when I wore them. I had to return them.

Excellent support- good for running and casual wear Image: 5 Stars

These were for my wife- she needs good arch support and a wider toe box- and after trying many different brands she has been extremely satisfied with this model. Would recommend to others with semi-wide feet.

A stylish, well-built shoe Image: 4 Stars

Great look and construction; I usually order a half size bigger than my regular shoe size but found I needed a whole size bigger on this one. Pretty good comfort--lightweight and not clunky; it does get a little warm after awhile of wearing.

I was able to wear these shoes comfortably for 4 days of long hikes over snow packs ice rocks and through streams without breaking them in first. The shoe fits like a trail running shoe (one size larger than dress shoes same as your running shoes.) Plenty of room for an ankle brace while offering tremendous stability both on climbs and descents. Hiked with several other people through spring snow melt and was the only one without wet feet at the end of the day.
