i bought this Banshee Triclimate Jacket early this year in the spring sale because i was planning to move to Canada from Virginia. As I had never lived in a cold climate before I was worried about my first winter. I decided to buy this jacket after reading numerous positive reviews from other customers. Now I know I've made the right purchase. Last night I was out in the wintry mix with wind and the jacket kept me totally warm and dry except that it hurt when the icy snow/rain hit my face. (BTW the hood of this jacket has very good coverage.) Today it's about 32F degrees outside and I took a walk in this jacket and just had one single layer of long-sleeve cotton T under it and I wasn't cold. It's warmer than my previous down jacket for sure. I still need to wait to see if it'll withstand much lower temperature but now at least I'm more assured that I'll live through my first winter here.

I really like this jacket. It's really 3 jackets in one with the zip-in liner. You can wear the liner as a separate jacket or wear the shell as a rain coat or detach the hood and wear it as a light jacket alone. Or you can put it all together and have a really warm winter coat. The colors are great too!

It is one of the best jackets North Face makes. The 3-in-1 concept is the best; wear the inner liner on a pseudo-cold night and wear the outer shell with the inner when you go skiing. Warm and cute.

Was really surprised how warm the jacket was. While on a ski vacation at Snowbird liked having the zip out second liner jacket to wear around the hotel or going out for dinner. Another bonus was all the specialized pockets for MP3 player and ear piece sleeve zip area. and plug cords to keep powder from coming in around the bottom of the jacket.
