Improved comfort and response in a lightweight design that Ride calls "all-terrain freestyle".

Created for high-end freeride performance the lightweight Ride SPi snowboard binding doesn't hit you with a high-end price tag. This advanced design is a perfect choice for riders who want a lock on great response without paying top dollar for the latest gimmicks and fashion colors. All of the SPi's killer features are built around Ride's Aluminum Response R2 System a binding chassis architecture specifically optimized for all-mountain freeride applications. This season Ride replaced their FlatBack Highback with a new PowerFlex Highback (it still has a tool-free forward adjust but it's lighter). They also added a new Balance Core Ankle Pad with tool-free center adjustment. The extra ankle padding doesn't just improve the fit it also enhances the response with better contact points along your boot. Along the straps you'll find Ride's redesigned Revolver Grip-Zone Ratchets a patented barrel ratchet design that provides four to five clicks per throw. The Revolver Ratchet release system is even faster than before and allows for smooth exits in seconds. If performance matters but you don't feel the need to keep up with the gadget guys in their designer jackets the Ride SPi is a real deal without pretensions.

I was a little let down with these. Not as responsive as I'd hoped and the adjustments were sort of a pain. To adjust the highbacks and upper straps and such I had to take the binding off the board; irritating. Also the toe extenders didn't stay extended as they the adjustment for that is integrated into the toe strap screw which comes loose as you move the toe strap around. THe rachets where solid and the upper strap comfy but they are somewhat difficult to release and liked to snag on my mittens. Additionally the convertible toe strap is a joke. Anyways I'd recommend these to the intermediate rider but as for anyone who is a little more advanced and likes to really be able to dial in their bindings pick something else.
