What? You mean you don't want to go to the beach this summer looking like a walking surf wear billboard? But you won't look like anybody else! Sarcasm aside Patagonia is onto something with their nicely understated embellishment-free Minimalist II Board Shorts. These Minimalist II Board Shorts are made with a soft peached polyester fabric created from recycled materials. The fast-drying design features a three-button flat front fly with a tie-closure up top. On the side you'll find a contoured zippered pocket with an embossed drain grommet. The fit is what Patagonia calls regular so it's moderately loose and rides comfortably on your hips. Because the Minimalist II has a shorter above-the-knee cut than shorts like the Wavefarer II it has less fabric volume and feels lighter offering potentially more mobility. Technical stuff aside we like the Minimalist II because it's a board short that doesn't look out of place down at the pool or anywhere else you go under the sun.
