Patagonia Men's Houdini Full-Zip Rain Jacket Patagonia: Men's Houdini Full-Zip Rain Jacket

The Houdini Full-Zip is light enough for the Hardrock 100 and durable enough for a single-day minimalist push up a Himalayan peak. Breathable and quick to dry it is a hidden necessity for active travel. This season we've updated the fabric so it's less transparent. The Houdini comes complete with a drawcord hem and stuffs into its own chest pocket. A Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish sheds water.

Incredible mountaineering shell ... Image: 5 Stars

On the advice of a friend I purchased the Patagonia Houdini for my most recent climbing trip to the Cascades. The jacket exceeded my expectations in every way. The obvious characteristic is that the jacket is light and compact. It easily stuffs into pants pocket or the top pocket of a climbing pack. I found the jacket to be comfortable to wear as well. The texture of the fabric is silky so that it drapes easily and is amazing quiet as you move about. The hood worked great though I typically wore it UNDER my helmet rather than over. The zipper was amazingly easy to work with gloved hands. The jacket if rather fitted so it didn't flap in high winds. And lastly as others have mentioned the jacket is incredibly waterproof and dries in a flash. To put all this in context the Houdini is so efficient that it has replaced my fleece and waterproof breathable layers altogether.

While not entirely waterproof this shell repels light precip and makes a great windbreaker. I use it for everything from longer climbs & mountain bike rides to field work and it never lets me down. Recommended.

I use this jacket in summer night to repell mosquito. And in the light rain it sheds rain well and also breathes quite well.I bring Houdini in many travelsI use in the airplane. Most of all it is compressible to pack into tiny pocket bag.

I LOVE this jacket! Purchased primarily for long walks needing only a light polartec top underneath this blocks all wind it looks and fits great and weighs next to nothing. One of the best jackets I've ever owned! Patagonia at one time also made pants of the same material. I would like to see that come back again. Patagonia stands behind their products 100%.

The best jacket I've ever had Image: 5 Stars

I rode my bicycle across the USA and this was the only jacket I needed. It packs so small in it's pocket I could carry it in my back jersey pocket or stuff it in a water bottle cage holder. It's so wind proof and water resistant. If it rained it would dry so fast after the showers. It was all I needed on cool mornings over top of a vest and arm warmers. This is the BEST jacket I have ever own and I have bought many!
