I loved these shoes when I tried them on and they fit perfect from the start and didn't need any "breaking in". They were exactly the style I was looking for too. However they do not breath at all and my feet and the shoes stink everytime I wear them and they stay damp in the cushion for a day or more. I don't usually have these kinds of issues with shoes. They also turn my heals black (typical of black leather however). I am also having a problem with discoloration of the leather where the crease (from the walking movement)in the toe area near where the leather and the sole meet. I really want to like these shoes but the clausterphobia my feet are feeling is driving me crazy.

I bought these shoes last minute before a walking tour of Italy. Rainy weather slick cobblestones uneven surfaces -- this shoe performed like a champ with excellent traction and comfort. Walked 8 to 17 miles per day without a single blister. No odor issues. I appreciate that they were stylish enough to keep up with the Europeans and not make me miss my white athletic shoes. No regrets about my purchase!
