Laken Hit Water Bottle (1.0L) Laken: Hit Water Bottle (1.0L)

Something gets lost in translation on this one. We're not sure what "Hit" means maybe the crazy Spaniards that make these things are talking about the wicked awesome bike cap or perhaps they mean to call out that these one piece extruded aluminum water bottles will take some "hits" with they fancy powder coated finish and bendy epoxy-phenolic inner coating.

well thought out design. Image: 4 Stars

To replace my old plastic Nalgene water bottle that had that nasty chemical the choice narrowed between the Laken and the Camelbak Better Bottle in 1 liter. Though the Camelbak was $4 less I preferred the aluminum construction and overall look of the Laken. With a smaller diameter it was easier to hold in your hand and the mouth while not super wide is certainly wide enough to put ice cubes from the refrigerator. The cap is screwed on and clicks shut. The drinking "spout" also has a leak prevention system that requires you to turn the spout like a key in order to open the valve. I thought this was a neat design because carrying a water bottle around in a gym bag without some sort of leakproof mechanism is courting disaster. This bottle is not insulated like the ISO 70 or ISO 40 that Laken makes. As such condensation does form on the outside of the bottle when I filled it with cubes. The aluminum is light and there is no metallic taste to the water. All in all a simple but effective product well designed and executed.

Best on the market Image: 5 Stars

Having purchased many different brands of the aluminum water bottles on the market today I have to say the design and function of Laken's is the best. The looking drink spot prevents spills and further filters to make for great tasting water with no mess. Only complaint would be need one in a 40 0z. size.
