It might remind you of a wool knit hoody but it's made from Polartec® Thermal Pro®.
While it seems like every active wear manufacturer has at least a half dozen hoody offerings Arc'teryx made their Covert Hoody strikingly different with an innovative Polartec® Thermal Pro® sweater knit fabric. The fabric looks like wool but it's easier to launder and doesn't have the permanent stretch concerns. Beneath the sleeves are underarm gussets so you can extend your reach above your head without feeling exposed down along the hem. The Arc'teryx Covert Hoody is functional outerwear for hiking running and camping in cool weather.

I spent 5 months looking for the perfect fleece for an upcoming 7 month trip and I found it in the covert cardigan! It is light weight so it is easy to throw in your pack but still keeps you nice and toasty. Its moisture wicking performance is top notch and the material feels like your favorite sweatshirt. I can't wait to take it on our next voyage!

I normally wear a small and this jacket fits me perfectly. Size up if you would like to wear layers. Good for cool weather with a long sleeve shirt underneath. I love the plum color.

The covert hoody is versatile and functional. great to use for layering with ski wear but also for casualwear when traveling. there is an difference in the sizing. if you like a snug "figure-forming-fit" get a size medium. otherwise a size large will give you a more relaxed fitespecially through the bust. this jacket is very flattering either way. it looks good and feels good. because it's comfort and practicality i'm going to order another large plum hoody.

I bought this jacket because of its design and overall look to wear around town and not as a technical piece. No one does hoods like Arc'teryx and this is probably the best fit I'd ever had in fleece jackets. I like it that Arc'teryx's sizing is closer to European sizes. Wearing a size S is for once what it should look like and not a full-body tent. If this hadn't been on sale I would have never bought it--too pricey for something that isn't wind/waterproof.
