A buttery silky soft crew that's both durable and pill resistant with flat-locked seams.

Designed for high output pursuits the Arc'teryx Ether Comp Jersey LS for men provides maximum breathability with a higher degree of long sleeve protection. This hybrid is patterned with Vivital™ fabric on the main body to keep the core cool and dry. A lightweight and tough Eduraflex ™ stretch woven fabric reinforces the arms and shoulders for increased abrasion resistance while climbing or bushwhacking. This shirt is a buttery silky soft crew that's both durable and pill resistant.

I've been a big fan of the short sleeve regular Ether T shirt and the Rho SL and was a bit surprised at Comp and the two different fabrics when I got it. The Eduraflex fabric seemed to feel like a sticky light softshell external fabric until I used it on a day-long hike. While I am no rock climber the hike turned out to be more of a scramble than a trail hike in much warmer weather than anticipated. I mention this because I can see how this shirt with the Euraflex helps you grip and protects the much lighter and breathable Vivital when climbing. I had to lift myself up and over several small rock walls and felt this shirt actually helped me grab onto the surfaces and pull myself up and kept my day pack in place on my shoulders. The Euraflex is also much stronger and works similar to reinforced elbows except it covers the length of the forearms and goes over the shoulders. I statred the hike with a fleece and long pants but once I got above the fog belt and into the sun shedded the fleece and dreaded having a long sleeve T with this sticky fabric on the shoulder and sleeves. I did not dread long as this baby has excellent wicking and cooling (Breathing) properties. I sweated but it never felt sticky to my skin. By the end of the day I was a fan. I'm a big guy (6'1.5 240lbs) and normally wear XL in a lot of stuff but the large on this fits great so consider going down a size especially if you like your clothes tight.
