The Alpha SL does exactly what it was designed to do and does it perfectly. It's no frills made from super light yet durable and waterproof Gore-tex Paclite it's light enough to pack anywhere and when the storm hits it will keep you dry. This jacket is another example of Arcteryx quality. I love the wasabi and brilliant blue colors very unique and vibrant but there's black too if you prefer something more subtle. I think the red zipper on the front adds a nice touch to the overall style of the jacket.

Bought this jacket after a long search I had my eyes on Beta SL and this Alpha SL as my rain jacket. Bought but returned the Beta SL it's just too short. Alpha sl is little longer and mixes a slim fit with the right amount of room. Its ultralight and the hood fits well over my big head. Very satisfied!

This jacket fits nicely into the world of 4 season use- designed very lightweight can be worn in summer storms and also layered over fleece or softshell for winter insanity! great trim but full fit (do not agree it runs small runs right on target for Arc'teryx stuff- great construction and also made in Canada which is what you want compared to a nice Vietnamese piece- breathes and fends off weather assaults good deal!
